Dominic Monypenny

Scientist, Retired Sportsman

Place of birth: Croydon, England

Year of birth: 1960

Lived in Launceston: 17 years

I’ve had the priviledge of travelling widely with my sports of rowing and nordic skiing and could have worked in my other profession as a scientist around the world, but Ive made Launceston home - a niche quintessential colonalism enveloped in a spectacular natural ruggedness.

Now ‘retired”, I just dabble - “fanging it” in the wheelchair through our stunning gorge and in the laboratories putting amazed smiles on hopefully the next generation of scientists.
